I made lots of changes to this week's release, and I ended up creating some very cute tiny books as holiday ornaments!
Making things involves a lot of trial and error. Since I'm working with a lot of unknowns and a narrow window, I'm treating this as a learning experience. That, and after hours of working on one project, I decided to scrap it all and spend one all-nighter dedicating myself to something that really made sense.
That's how it goes when you only have so much time in the evenings.
This always happens. A couple of years ago, before I was ready to acknowledge that commissioned or custom work is not for me, I was selling some marker sketched portraits for about $35 apiece. How much time and effort did I end up spending on what was supposed to be a sketch? Well, I had fun anyway, getting carried away. Same thing happened with this project. Anyway! Now that it's done, I have some very cute ornaments that I'm tucking away in little gift boxes so they're ready to go home at a moment's notice.
For the rest of December I'm going to try and take a few days off from the nine-to-five here and there, and I'm going to try and convince Brett that we need to spend this New Year watching ghost hunting shows and eating snacks in the dark.
